As the name would suggest, you can see a lot of wildlife in the area but that is only one of the factors that make it well worth considering. You can also take an active part in visiting this refuge by hiking, fishing, bicycling or even taking a ride through it on horseback. Make sure that you visit the St. Mark’s lighthouse, which is the second oldest lighthouse located in the state of Florida.
Automobile Museum – If you have a love of vehicles or if you just enjoy exploring some of the history of an area, then this automobile and collectors Museum is well worth visiting. Of course, old cars are only part of what it has to offer, but it does have some amazing options. You also find a number of other older items that include everything from cash registers to pocketknives. This is not a free attraction but it is one that is well worth visiting.
Museum of Florida History – This is more than just a walk down memory lane of the past hundred years or so, this particular museum has artifacts from Florida that date back as long as 12,000 years ago. Of course, you also find some modern-day information, including memorabilia from World War II. There is a lot to see in this particular museum so make sure that you set aside plenty of time. It is also a great place to take the family and to enjoy a day or perhaps even two of exploring more of what the state of Florida had to offer.
